DUMBO Open Studios 2020 Postponed in Solidarity
In solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and all Black people, we have decided to postpone DUMBO Open Studios.
We are outraged and deeply saddened by the continued killing of our Black brothers and sisters. We acknowledge the traumatic impact of the recent police killings of George Floyd, Tony McDade, Sean Reed, and Breonna Taylor on Black communities around the country and the wave of sadness and anger being felt by many.
We applaud the efforts of individuals and grassroots groups leading us in protest, engaging us in conversation, and calling us to action. We also condemn the violence that the police have unleashed on people who are bravely demanding justice.
As artists and New Yorkers, we believe our full attention needs to be focused on supporting, celebrating, and defending Black lives. We encourage you to engage in conversation and reflection as we process these events and fight for equality.
