Bohnen sought to slow down and analyze the process of painting by recording sequences of discrete brushstrokes of varying sizes onto paper or canvas, organized by imaginary grids. She allowed the painted…

New York Studio School Projects @ DUMBO, 20 Jay Street, Suite 307
Brooklyn, NY 11201 United States

Anthro-Shift, is an exhibition that contemplates the ever-shifting boundaries between the natural and artificial worlds. These wide-ranging works embrace our hybridity, possibility, and multiplicity in relating bodies to space, place, and time. From paint and textiles to industrially-made and found materials, these objects push against a separation of humanity and environment. As we act upon the world, so it acts upon us; bodies - in the broadest terms - inextricably linked. Curated by Anita Trombetta and Char Healey.
