the body shows itself
In conjunction with her solo show dreamgurl, Asia Stewart will perform a durational work at A.I.R. Gallery on Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Titled the body shows itself, Stewart’s performance offers audiences that very thing: access to her body. Stewart will grant gallery visitors the opportunity to photograph any part of her body with an instant film camera in a one-on-one setting. Stewart has devised the following rules to govern the performance:

Visitors cannot touch Stewart’s body. They can only direct Stewart to pose or issue commands to her.

Every visitor can only take ONE photo of Stewart.

Stewart will keep and showcase all photographs that are taken of her body UNLESS a visitor chooses to purchase a photograph for a price (ranging from $200 – $1000). All purchases will be processed through the gallery.

Viewers cannot physically copy, reproduce, or distribute any photographs taken during the performance or post any images online.

Stewart retains copyright of all images taken of her body. Photographs of Stewart cannot be used without her permission.
