Pop-Up Artist Book Fair

at A.I.R. Gallery

There is a long tradition of A.I.R. artists creating artist books, as well as a long history of A.I.R. Gallery celebrating artist books and publications. Often this history is seen to start with the 1980 exhibit “Speaking Volumes: Women Artists’ Books,” curated by Lucy Lippard. We are pleased to continue A.I.R. Gallery’s commitment to highlighting the artist book form by presenting a pop-up artists’ book fair of current women and non-binary A.I.R. artists. Organized by Maxine Henryson and Lauren Simkin Berke, and exhibiting the work of ten artists, this one day fair will show a diverse collection of both editioned and unique artists’ books. The books on display will include work in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.

The participating artists are Susan Bee, Lauren Simkin Berke, Yvette Drury Dubinsky, Rosina Lardieri, Kay Turner, Maxine Henryson, Erica Stoller, Nancy Storrow, Joan Snitzer, and Jane Swavely.
