Irit Baniel & Alexis Granwell: PLUMB LINE

Plumb Line holds a tension between the vertical and horizontal, earth and sky, presence and repose. Baniel’s paintings move between the earthly and spiritual, while Granwell’s handmade paper sculptures explore repair and the possibility of transcendence. Their distinct practices come together through the relationship between scroll-like paintings and bodily sculptures, creating a visual axis within the space. This axis becomes a point of connection between the material and the spatial, where balance, gravity, alignment, and intimacy come into focus.
