As the epicenter of this pandemic, it is important New York City also be recognized as the epicenter of diverse strategies for mourning and remembrance. Before we can properly #BuildBackBetter, it is necessary for us to mourn and honor those that we have lost due to COVID-19. Please join us for a gathering of songs, stories, poems, and strategies for mourning and remembrance during the passing of our neighbors, families, and friends during the COVID-19 pandemic. In partnership with New York Folklore, please join Saboor Aziz and his father, Aziz Peerzada, as they pass on traditions of Punjabi folk and Sufi songs ‘in place’ while mourning and remembering those in the Pakistani community that we have lost to the COVID-19 epidemic.
