How do we create identity? Is it entirely of the self, or are there ancillary factors that influence the way we identify our persona. We The Hell am I seeks to illuminate the building blocks of identity and highlight their fluidity as evolutionary armor, redressing and examining place, past histories, gender roles, traumas, contemporary mythologies, and movement through time and space as an amalgam and pastiche of complex identity construction.
Light Year is an ongoing program of video art projected onto the Manhattan Bridge, presented on the first Thursday of every month. Originally created in honor of the United Nations’ declaration of 2015 as The Year of Light and Light Art, Light Year includes a well-rounded program of video artists from around the globe.
