Karl Burkheimer’s “aline” is a manifesto, travelogue, a thinking through of documentation, and a documentation of thought, a living archive of calls and responses, and an elegy for object making. His work tarries in the gap between the known and not-known, between the provisional and makeshift. Burkheimer’s creative practice is an open current and a critique of the ‘perfect circuit’ of production: always provisional, always made to be unmade and made again.
